Inspired by the acclaimed LF-LC concept that debuted in 2012, the Lexus LC represents a shift in Lexus’ engineering processes and design ideologies, and makes the strongest statement yet about the brand’s future product direction.
Alongside the provocative and athletic V8-powered LC 500 is the next generation hybrid model, the LC 500h, featuring a world first Multi Stage Hybrid System designed specifically for performance vehicles.
SEDUCTIVE FORM, HUMAN-CENTERED
Combining avant garde elegance with dynamic coupe proportions, the LC’s seductive form symbolizes the heightened collaboration between design and engineering groups, while remaining true to the key design elements, proportions and visual dynamism of the award-winning LF-LC concept car that inspired it.
Visual appeal is defined by an athletic aerodynamic shape with sensuous curves and an optional flowing carbon-fiber roof, creating a low and wide imposing stance. A sweeping roofline tapering from the central position of the occupants creates a uniquely human-centered silhouette, while the LC’s outstanding driving dynamics are reflected in the addition of subtle yet functional aerodynamic measures.
The all-new interior design reflects the exterior design theme of dynamic luxury with a cabin combining all the elegance, quality and sophistication of a Lexus premium coupe with high driving pleasure and passenger comfort.
Lexus engineers put considerable effort into creating an engaging driver experience, focusing on details like the size and angle of the steering wheel, which features a change in cross-sectional shape throughout the rim circumference, allowing for improved grip, as well as larger magnesium alloy paddle shifters shaped for an easier and more positive finger action.
All information displays are arranged in order of importance in their proximity to the driver’s sight line. The instrument binnacle itself houses a descendant of the LFA’s innovative driver’s meter, and centre console featuring a next-generation touch pad for the Remote Touch Interface.
Throughout the new interior, the quality and finish of upholstery, leather centre console, stitched dash pad and Alcantara door trim reflect a level of Takumi craftsmanship and attention to detail for which Lexus is globally renowned.
